Understanding Grailed Seller Fees & Costs
Grailed provides a marketplace for fashion enthusiasts with transparent seller fees. While buyers shop for free, sellers pay a combination of commission and payment processing fees. Here’s a complete breakdown to help you calculate your net earnings.
Grailed’s Standard Commission Fee
All successful sales on Grailed are subject to a platform commission fee:
- 9% Commission - Applied to the total sale amount (item price + shipping)
- Global Rate - Same percentage for both domestic and international transactions
This fee covers marketplace services including buyer protection, platform maintenance, and customer support.
Payment Processing Fees
Grailed partners with payment processors that charge additional fees, which vary based on:
- Your country of residence
- Whether you’re onboarded with Stripe
- The buyer’s payment method and location
Seller Status | Domestic Payments (US) | International Payments |
---|---|---|
Stripe Onboarded (eligible countries) | 3.49% + $0.49 | 4.99% + $0.49 |
Stripe Eligible (not onboarded) | 3.49% + $0.99 | 5.49% + $0.99 |
Non-Stripe Countries | 4.99% + $0.49 (default rate) |
Total Selling Costs Example
For a $100 domestic sale by a Stripe-onboarded US seller, here’s how the fees break down. First, Grailed takes a 9% commission fee, which amounts to $9 on a $100 sale. The payment processing fee through Stripe adds another $3.98 (3.49% + $0.49 fixed fee). When you combine these fees, the total deduction comes to $12.98, which represents 12.98% of the sale price. After all fees are subtracted, the seller ultimately receives $87.02 from the original $100 sale.
Additional Considerations
When pricing your items, remember these factors that affect your net profit:
- Shipping Costs - You can choose to include shipping in your price or charge separately
- Taxes - Some regions require sales tax collection (automatically handled by Grailed)
- Currency Conversion - International sales may incur additional conversion fees
- Returns/Refunds - Fees are typically not refunded if a transaction is reversed
