eBay Ireland Selling Fees for Private Sellers
Selling on eBay Ireland as a private seller is straightforward and cost-effective. You benefit from free listings each month and only pay fees when your item sells. However, charges such as final value fees, regulatory operating fees, and international fees can impact your overall profit. Using an eBay Ireland fee calculator ensures you accurately estimate your total selling costs and net profit before listing.
Listing Fees
eBay Ireland provides private sellers with a monthly allowance of free listings. In most cases, you will not pay any insertion (listing) fees unless you exceed this allowance or choose optional upgrades such as promoted listings, subtitles, or listing enhancements designed to improve visibility.
Final Value Fees (FVF)
When your item sells, eBay charges a final value fee based on the total sale amount. This includes the item price, shipping costs, handling charges, VAT, and any applicable taxes collected from the buyer.
- 11% on the portion of the sale up to €1,990
- 2% on the portion over €1,990
- Fixed per-order fee: €0.05 for orders under €10, or €0.35 for orders over €10
If your item does not sell, you generally won’t pay a final value fee. However, fees may still apply if you attempt to complete a transaction outside of eBay after connecting with a buyer on the platform.
Regulatory Operating Fee
Private sellers in Ireland are charged a 0.43% regulatory operating fee on the total sale amount when an item sells. This fee is automatically deducted from your payout and applies to the total sale amount.
International & Currency Conversion Fees
If your registered address is in Ireland and the buyer’s delivery address is outside the Eurozone and Sweden, the following international fee applies (calculated on the total sale amount):
| Eurozone & Sweden | Europe, US & Canada | United Kingdom | All Other Countries |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 1.97% | 1.48% | 4.06% |
In addition, if currency conversion is required, eBay applies a 3% seller currency conversion fee, which is built into the exchange rate used during the transaction.
All fees shown for private sellers are inclusive of VAT.
